new Delhi: Former India team opener Gautam Gambhir has criticized the captaincy of Indian captain Virat Kohli after the defeat against Australia in the second ODI. India is currently playing a three-match ODI series on the tour of Australia, having lost the series after losing the first two matches.
In the first match, Australia defeated Team India by 66 runs, while in the second ODI, it was defeated by 51 runs. Gambhir said that he did not understand why Virat Kohli gave Jasprit Bumrah only 2 overs with the new ball.

Gautam Gambhir said, “To be honest, I did not understand the captaincy. We keep talking constantly about how important it is to take wickets so that we can stop such a batting order.” Then you make your top bowler get only 2 overs with the new ball. Usually in ODIs there are 3 spells, 4-3-3 overs.
He said, ‘But if you stop your top bowler by just 2 overs with the new ball, I cannot understand such captaincy. I cannot even explain this captaincy. This is not T20. I cannot understand this decision because it is bad captaincy. Gambhir said that if the Indian team is having trouble, then she can try Shivam Dubey or Washington Sundar as the sixth bowler.
The former left-handed batsman said, ‘They can give a chance to either Sundar or Dubey, or whoever is in the team can play the next match and see what kind of players they are in ODIs. But if you do not have any, then this is the flaw of the selection.
