IND vs AUS Sydney Test: Steve Smith’s loss to Pitch, Australian media puts the blame on the crime

new Delhi: New Delhi: On the 5th day of the Sydney Test between India and Australia (IND vs AUS), Steve Smith committed a shameful act. On his crime, the Australian media tried to cover up his crime. Perhaps the local media was trying to save the cricketer of his country.

Smith of the Pitch

When the drinks were broken during the fourth innings of the match, Rishabh Pant left the pitch and went to drink water. Meanwhile, Steve Smith damaged the pitch with his shoes. While the Australian team was struggling to get wickets, Smith did this in an effort to help his bowlers.

Could not hide the crime

This act of Steve Smith was captured in the camera in the stumps, but Australian media tried to hide it and during this time old footage started being shown on TV. Despite this, Smith’s crime could not be hidden, because the television feed that was being received outside Australia could be seen clearly by Smith damaging the pitch. However, returning to the crease, Pant again flattened part of the pitch with his bat.

Strict action may be taken

What Steve Smith did is considered an offense under Article 2.10 of the ICC Code of Conduct. It is kept in the category of ‘unfair sports’. The rule states that ‘a fielder who intentionally and avoidably damages the pitch will be considered a Level 1 or Level 2 offense.’ This Australian player can be severely punished as soon as the ICC comes to the notice.

Stuck in ball tampering 2 years ago
Breaking ICC rules is not new to Steve Smith. In the year 2018, he has been caught in the ball tampering scandal (2018 Australian Ball-Tampering Scandal). Which is also known as Sandpapergate Scandal.

Lost captaincy
Smith was the captain of the Australian cricket team when the ball tampering controversy took place. Due to this act, he had to lose his captaincy, along with he was banned from playing cricket for a year. Along with him, David Warner and Cameron Bancroft were also banned.
