Ahmedabad: The third match of the four-match Test series between India and England, which is included in the world cricket giants, will be played at the Motera ground in Ahmedabad, the world’s largest cricket stadium. This match will be played from 2:30 pm today. It will be a day-night test match. India and England teams are 1–1 on par in the Test series.
Victory is necessary for India
The Indian team would not like to take any risk and avoid defeat. Defeat in either of the next two Tests can make the road to the final of Team India’s WTC difficult. The stadium of Motera has been prepared in a new way and the pitch here is completely new for the Indian team. So far the Indian team has played only two Test matches with pink ball.
Team India was reduced to 36 last time
The first Test played in Adelaide against Australia (Australia) in December last year was played with pink ball, where Team India suffered a crushing defeat. The Indian team was reduced to just 36 runs in the second innings, which is the lowest score in their Test history.
Eye on fast bowlers
There is a possibility that India may change the strategy of playing three spinners in the team for the third Test. In the first two Tests played in Chennai, the Indian team played three spinners. Most wickets in the day-night Test played so far have been jerks by fast bowlers. In India’s first day-night Test against Bangladesh, Ravindra Jadeja bowled two and Ravichandran Ashwin bowled just five overs.
Gavaskar had completed 10,000 test runs
Ahmedabad is the ground of cricket that has witnessed many achievements related to Indian cricket. While Sunil Gavaskar completed 10,000 Test runs here, Kapil Dev gave his best performance with nine wickets for 83 runs here and later broke the record of Richard Headley’s highest Test wicket at the same ground.
Ishant to play 100th Test
Today Ishant Sharma will land at this ground to play his 100th Test match and will become the second Indian fast bowler to achieve this feat after Kapil. Where Sachin Tendulkar completed his first double century in Test matches, Ravichandran Ashwin will try to join the club to take 400 Test wickets for which he needs six wickets.
Umesh may get a chance
India would like Motera’s pitch to help the spinners to take a 2-1 lead, but how the pitch will behave remains to be seen. Umesh Yadav has been successful in fitness test and this is good news for India. In this case, Kuldeep Yadav can be excluded from the playing XI. Umesh and Ishant had dismissed Bangladesh twice in six sessions in the first day night Test match played in Kolkata, but England have players like Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Johnny Bairstow who will pose a tough challenge.
