New Delhi: A 5-match test series is being played between Team India and England. After the end of the three Test matches in this series, both the teams are tied at 1-1. Now the eyes of both the teams are on the fourth Test starting from Thursday at The Oval. Captain Virat Kohli, who suffered an innings and 76-run defeat in the third Test of the series against England, would like to make some big changes before the fourth Test. Meanwhile, former England captain Nasser Hussain has given an advice to Kohli.
‘Keep this player out in place of Ashwin’
Former England captain Nasser Hussain says world No. 2 bowler off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin should be included in the fourth Test against England to be played at The Oval from September 2. Apart from Hussain, many former players have advocated the inclusion of Ashwin in the playing 11, who have not got a chance in the five-match Test series so far.
Hussain said in a column for the Daily Mail, ‘India should go for the world number two bowler and Ashwin, who has scored five Test centuries with the bat. He should have dominated the third Test as well and must have taken him at the Oval. Ashwin is currently the highest Test wicket-taker in the Indian team with 413 wickets in 79 matches. Hussain said, ‘The best would be to replace Ashwin for a fast bowler. Can replace Ishant Sharma who was seen struggling at Headingley.
Ishant is sure to be out
After Ishant Sharma’s poor performance in the third Test, it has been decided that he will be out of Team India’s playing XI in the fourth Test. Ishant proved to be the biggest villain for Team India in the third test match. Ishant Sharma looted runs in the third test match and did not get a single wicket. Ishant Sharma was given a chance in the third test match by Virat Kohli in place of Shardul Thakur, but he could not live up to this trust. The England batsmen blew up Ishant Sharma’s bowling. Ishant Sharma conceded 92 runs in 22 overs without taking any wicket.
Ashwin’s performance at the Oval has been good
It is clear that India will go with two spinners. Ashwin did well in the county match from Surrey at this ground and cannot be left out for this match. In case Ishant is dropped, either Umesh Yadav and Shardul Thakur can be included in the playing XI. England won the third match by an innings and 76 runs to level the five-match series 1-1.
