new Delhi: Former Indian fast bowler Irfan Pathan has recommended the inclusion of Kuldeep Yadav in the team in the upcoming Test series against England. Pathan has called Kuldeep a part of the Indian team in the Test series starting on February 5, while describing the left-arm wrist spinners as ‘unique’.
‘Kuldeep is a unique bowler’
Pathan (Irfan Pathan) said that Kuldeep Yadav is a unique bowler and he should get a chance in the Indian team. Pathan told PTI, ‘He is a unique bowler. He is 25–26 years old and this is the age where he will achieve maturity. Whenever he gets a chance, be it the first Test or the second Test, he will be desperate to perform well and I am confident that he will be successful in it.
Team management will be supporting Kuldeep
Pathan (Irfan Pathan) said that he was confident that the team management would be supporting Kuldeep Yadav. Pathan said, ‘It is very important from the point of view of team management how they maintain the mentality of the player who is not playing. I believe they are doing the right thing and that is why some young players have done well. I am confident that he must be supporting Kuldeep Yadav as he is very talented. You don’t get left-arm spinners every day.
Kuldeep is out of the Test team from January 2019
Kuldeep Yadav played his last Test match against Australia in January 2019. Since then, he has not been given a chance in the Test team again. In the recently concluded 4-match Test series against Australia, Kuldeep was not given a chance. India had named it 2–1 at the end of the series. Kuldeep has played 6 Test matches for India so far, in which he has taken a total of 24 wickets.
