New Delhi: Team India has to play a five-match Test series against England from August 4. Prior to that, India’s top spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is playing county cricket for Surrey. Meanwhile, another special record has been registered in the name of Ashwin.
Ashwin breaks 11 year old record
In county cricket, Ravichandran Ashwin started the bowling for Surrey. This is the first time in 11 years that a spinner has bowled the first over of the innings. In most Test cricket, the pace bowler is given the responsibility of bowling the first over with the new ball.
Ashwin troubled the batsmen
In the match, Somerset captain James Hildreth won the toss and decided to bat first. After which the responsibility of bowling the first over was given to Ashwin. He bowled superbly while fulfilling this responsibility. He troubled the batsmen a lot with his line-length and did not allow many runs to be scored. In the first session, he took 1 wicket in 24 overs. Ashwin got the only breakthrough so far in the form of Tom Lamonby (42) at the start of the second session of the day.
Don’t leave those.

Ashwin’s master stroke
The reason for not getting a practice match was also given for the loss to New Zealand in the World Test Championship. In such a situation, there is a golden opportunity for Ravichandran Ashwin to practice before the start of the series against England. Ashwin’s attempt is to do as much bowling practice as possible without showing too much of his variety.
Will the Indian team be able to play practice matches?
After losing the World Test Championship final against New Zealand, Indian captain Virat Kohli said that the team had demanded a first-class match before the title match but he did not know why it did not happen.
India is expected to play a warm-up match before the series against England. The England and Wales Cricket Board has already said that it plans to conduct warm-up matches for India against the combined county team ahead of the Test series. The Indian players are currently on a 20-day sabbatical and will regroup on July 14.
