New Delhi: Team India’s veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has done well in the Test against England. He has proved that he is still the trump card for the team. However, this star spinner has not been given a place in the team in T20 against England. It is believed that Ashwin can return in ODIs due to his tremendous form. Meanwhile, Sunil Gavaskar has given a big statement about Ashwin.
Will Ashwin return in limited overs?
Ashwin (Ravichandran Ashwin) played the last ODI for India against West Indies in June 2017. Shortly after Kuldeep Yadav and Yajuvendra Chahal stepped into Team India, Ashwin had to stay out of the team and his return was never possible. But seeing Ashwin’s form against England, it is being speculated that he may get a chance in ODIs.

Sunil Gavaskar said on Ashwin
Sunil Gavaskar believes that Ashwin is rarely able to make a comeback in limited overs cricket. Talking to Star Sports, Sunil Gavaskar said, ‘Don’t know why but I don’t think he will be back in the limited overs team now. Because now India has got an all-rounder at number 7 in the form of Hardik Pandya.
Gavaskar (Sunil Gavaskar) said, ‘After that there are Ravindra Jadeja and then there can be three seamers or one spinner or two seamers and one spinner in the team. I do not think he will fit into the team at this time. He is going to be a Test match player for the next few years’.
Ashwin’s ODI career
Ravichandran Ashwin did not play ODIs and T20s for Team India for a long time, although if looked at his performance, this spinner has played a significant role in many matches for the Indian team. He has played 111 ODIs for India in which he has scored 675 runs at an average of 16.1 and has taken 150 wickets at an economy rate of 4.91.
At the same time, it would be stupid to underestimate this player even in T20. Ashwin (Ravichandran Ashwin) has also played 46 T20 Internationals in which he has scored at an average of 30.8 and has taken 52 wickets at a 6.97 economy rate. At the same time, in the IPL, he has taken 138 wickets in 154 matches.
