New Delhi: India has defeated England by an innings and 25 runs in the last Test match of the series. With this victory, India has named this series 3–1. England won the first Test match of the series by 227 runs. After this, India won the second match by 317 runs, while in the third Test match, India defeated England by 10 wickets.

In the second innings of the fourth Test match of the series, the England team succumbed to Akshar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin. Ashwin-Akshar took all 10 wickets of England in his second innings. Ashwin and Akshar took 5-5 wickets in the second innings. Talking about the entire series, Ashwin has taken 32 wickets in this series, while Akshar has managed to take 27 wickets.

Rishabh Pant and Washington Sundar played brilliantly in the last Test match of the series. Rishabh played a magnificent century of 101 runs in India’s first innings. While Sundar scored an unbeaten 96 runs. Thanks to the excellent innings of Pant and Sundar, India managed to take a big lead over England in the first innings.

After defeating England 3–1 in the four-match series, they made it to the finals of the World Test Championship. India needed to win the series 4–0, 3–1 or 2–1 to reach the final of the World Test Championship. India will now face New Zealand in the final of the World Test Championship at Lord’s ground in June.
