Team India captain Virat Kohli has informed that Shardul Thakur will not be able to play in the second match of the series to be played at Lord’s. Shardul is injured due to which he will not be able to be a part of this match. However, Kohli has said that he will be fit by the third match.
Shardul did wonders in the first test
Shardul Thakur responded to the critics in the first Test match by dismissing England captain Joe Root in the first innings. Shardul Thakur played well with Mohammed Shami, Mohammad Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah in this match. He took 4 wickets in two innings of this match. The first Test match played in Nottingham was drawn due to rain. The five-match Test series is currently tied at 0-0. India would like to take a 1-0 lead by winning the second Test at Lord’s.
Who will get the chance in place of Shardul?
If Shardul Thakur does not play, fast bowler Ishant Sharma can get a chance in his place. Virat Kohli has already made it clear that India will play with 4 fast bowlers in the series. In such a situation, Ishant Sharma or Umesh Yadav can also be given entry in the playing XI in place of Shardul Thakur.
