IND vs ENG Test Series: Sachin Tendulkar told Monty Panesar better bowler than Jack Leach

new Delhi: Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar believes that the success of spin bowlers Graeme Swann and Monty Panesar in England’s victory in the Test series on a tour of India in 2012 was largely to bowl at higher speeds than usual while they did not do so to Jack Leach have seen.

Left-arm spinner Jack Leach bowls at a slightly lower speed than the pair of Graeme Swann and Monty Panesar and his chances of success will only increase if he continues to change speed on pitches that are helpful to spinners.

Sachin Tendulkar said, ‘That (2012) was a different type of attack and Swan was one of the top spinners in the world at that time. Monty (Panesar) was a bowler who did not believe in flying the ball. He used to believe in feeding the ball fast on the pitch.

He said, ‘Monty used to bowl at a fast pace, he was completely different from leeches. Unlike Monty, he (Leach) bowls a little slower. Tendulkar believes that leeches do not mix in their speed, which is necessary for a pitch that helps spinners.

He said, ‘As much as I have seen him bowling at the same speed, if there is a’ turn ‘and help from the pitch, then mixing in speed is necessary because it gives the batsmen less time to recover. Monty and Swan adopted a similar policy in 2012.

Regarding the Chennai Test, Team India’s great cricketer Sachin Tendulkar believes that due to the red soil and humid weather, the ball will start to reverse swing from the 15th over and it will be till the 60th over.

He said, ‘I think fast bowlers will have to play a big role in Chennai and in such a situation the importance of reverse swing will increase. I think the ball will reverse swing from the 15th to the 60th over. When the ball is reverse swinged, the batsman has less time.

He said, “The ball can also reverse swing from 60th to 80th hour but due to the softness of the ball, the batsman will have more time to adjust.” He said that there is so much power in England’s fast attack that he will be able to take advantage of it.

He said, ‘A bowler like Jofra Archer will be able to achieve reverse swing while senior bowler James Anderson has always managed to swing and reverse swing.

He said, ‘Ben Stokes will also bowl some overs and he has a good fast attack in the presence of Stuart Broad. This is a bowling attack that has a lot of experience and some young players who have just started their careers.
