Pune: England captain Eoin Morgan and Sam Billings were hurt in the first match of the three-match ODI series against India, after which both of them are doubtful to play in the second ODI.
Suspense on playing Morgan-Billings
With Eoin Morgan and Sam Billings not playing, half of the strength of the England cricket team will be used. Both these batsmen are expert in explosive batting and can turn any match on their day.
Morgan got stitches in the thumb and finger
Morgan’s thumb and index finger were injured in the area, which required four stitches. Billings suffered a ‘collarbone’ injury while diving to stop the boundary.
The second ODI for England will be ‘do or die’
Morgan said after the match, ‘We will have to wait for 48 more hours to see how this injury is. I haven’t talked to Sam about his batting, so I don’t know about him. As far as I am concerned, this 100 percent will not be right, but it is not that I cannot hold my bat. Trailing 0-1 in the three-match ODI series for England, the second ODI will be ‘do or die’ on Friday, otherwise the team will also lose this series.
