Ahmedabad: The third match of the four-match Test series between India and England will be played at Motera, Ahmedabad, the world’s largest cricket stadium. This match will be played tomorrow at 2:30 pm. India and England teams are 1–1 on par in the Test series.
The stadium of Motera has been prepared in a new way and the pitch here is completely new for the Indian team. So far the Indian team has played only two Test matches with pink ball.
The first Test played in Adelaide against Australia (Australia) in December last year was played with pink ball, where Team India suffered a crushing defeat. The Indian team was reduced to just 36 runs in the second innings, which is the lowest score in their Test history.
There is a possibility that India may change the strategy of playing three spinners in the team for the third Test. In the first two Tests played in Chennai, the Indian team played three spinners. Most wickets in the day-night Test played so far have been jerks by fast bowlers. In India’s first day-night Test against Bangladesh, Ravindra Jadeja bowled two and Ravichandran Ashwin bowled just five overs.
The Indian team would not like to take any risk and avoid defeat. Team India’s defeat in any one of the next two Tests can make their way to the final of WTC difficult. India need to win the next two Tests and capture the series to reach the final. Bumrah is supposed to play.
Umesh Yadav has been successful in fitness test and this is good news for India. In such a situation, Kuldeep Yadav can be excluded from the playing eleven. Umesh and Ishant had dismissed Bangladesh twice in six sessions in the first day night Test match played in Kolkata, but England have players like Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Johnny Bairstow who will pose a tough challenge.
Hardik Pandya has been included in the Test team to reduce the workload of the bowlers, but it is not sure whether the team is considering him ready for the Test match.
