IND vs NZ Series: Historical change will happen during this match, for the first time in 69 years, such a sight will be seen


Kanpur: The teams of India and New Zealand will face-to-face during the first Test match of the series on November 25 at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. The preparations for the 23rd International match being played in this historic ground have reached the last round.

A blue print has been prepared regarding the seating arrangement and entry from the ground to the audience. From floodlights to broadcaster’s cameras setup has also been rehearsed, but in this match, what will be seen incomplete in Green Park. That would be the absence of a historical manual score board.

Actually, only the digital score board will be used in the first Test match of the New Zealand tour to be held at Green Park. Whereas in the international matches so far, digital as well as manual score boards have been used. This score board was also a center of attraction during the match. It is considered to be the world’s largest manual score board.

It was prepared by SM Bashir and Jagjit Singh in 1952, while it was used in international matches from 1957 onwards. It was conducted under his direction. With the change of time, this score board has now started feeling unnecessary to the UPCA.
