IND VS PAK: Not well for those who abused Shami, Facebook took strong action


DubaiIn the ICC T20 World Cup, India was tied by 10 wickets against Pakistan. After which Indian fans started criticizing the players of Team India, in which people abused Shami on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. After which Facebook has taken strict action.

People’s anger on social media

India lost against Pakistan in a World Cup match for the first time, due to which Indian fans started targeting Team India’s fast bowler Mohammad Shami. Shami conceded 43 runs in 3.5 overs against Pakistan and did not get any wicket. Due to which people became angry with him. People started blaming him for the defeat. Shami has made a different place in the Indian team in the last few years.

Facebook took strong action

Internet users have used words like traitor and traitor for Shami, they have been removed by Facebook. A Facebook spokesperson said, “We have immediately initiated measures to remove abusive comments on the Indian cricketer and we will continue to take action against those who violate our Community Standards.” The spokesperson added, ‘We have tools like Hidden Words.’

Celebrities came in support of Shami

Many Indian cricket stalwarts gave their reactions after Mohammed Shami was blamed for the defeat on social media. Many former players including Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and Harbhajan Singh have tweeted supporting Shami. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has also lashed out at the trollers.

Lost against Pakistan

In their very first match of the T20 World Cup, Team India had to face defeat by 10 wickets against the biggest enemy Pakistan. Neither Indian bowler could work in this match nor any batsman other than Virat Kohli. With this, India’s T20 World Cup campaign started very badly. The fast bowlers looted runs against the Pakistani batsmen.
