Abu Dhabi: Ambati Rayudu, who played a key role in helping Chennai Super Kings (CSK) win against Mumbai Indians (MI) in the first match of IPL 2020, said that the team practiced in Chennai before coming to UAE. Which helped the team. Rayudu scored 71 off 48 balls and added 115 runs for the third wicket with Faf du Plessy. This partnership happened when the team lost their 2 wickets for just 6 runs.

Rayudu was adjudged ‘Man of the Match’ for his innings. During the award ceremony, Rayudu said, ‘We were training and it was like stopping and starting again. We were practicing even before the league was postponed.
Rayudu said, ‘The pitch was doing some action with the new ball but once dew came, batting became easy. We just wanted to stay there. We practiced in Chennai and it helped us a lot and after that we also practiced in Dubai. We are very happy.
