Dubai: Delhi Capitals all-rounder Harshal Patel has said that playing at neutral venues in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) will not allow teams to take advantage of playing in domestic conditions and in different venues. It will be challenging for the teams to constantly reconcile with different pitches. Explain that due to Karona virus, the IPL is being organized in the UAE this year, the league will be played in Dubai, Adhubi and Sharjah.

Patel said, ‘I think that every situation has its advantages and disadvantages. Playing at neutral places will definitely not benefit from playing at home ground, so it will be challenging for teams because you cannot depend on one type of wicket.
This all-rounder said that teams will not have the chance to prepare pitches according to their strong sides. He said, ‘We have seen in the past that if teams have good spinners, then they prefer to prepare spin-friendly pitches and by this they can use spinners to win.’
Patel said, ‘But when you play at a neutral venue, you don’t have this advantage. I think it will be very exciting to see how the teams take up this challenge. I think your skills will matter more than anything on such pitches’.
The right-arm fast bowler was eliminated from the tournament after playing just 2 matches due to fracture in the right-hand side last year. To this, he said, ‘It was very difficult for me to leave the tournament in the middle because I feel that I was in a good rhythm and of course I wanted to do well. The IPL is the biggest tournament for me because I do not play international cricket, so it was a very difficult moment.
