KL Rahul said after the match, ‘You can never prepare for a super over. No team can do this. So you have to trust the bowler. You trust the bowler and expect him to bowl according to his instincts. He (Shami) was very clear, he wanted to throw 6 Yorkers. He did a fantastic job and is getting better with every match. It is important that the senior players win the match to the team.
Rahul, who was chosen as the ‘Man of the Match’ for his 77-run knock in the match, expressed happiness over the victory but said that his team does not want to make a habit of registering a win like this. He said, ‘This is not the first time. But we do not want to make this kind of habit. Finally, we will accept 2 digits. It is not always the way you plan, so you do not know how to be balanced.
Rahul said that the wicket was a bit slow and hence he knew that scoring in the power play would be important. He said, ‘I know Chris (Gayle) and (Nicholas) Puran. I believe that he will score against the spinners. Chris’s arrival has made my job as a batsman easier.
