Rajasthan team could not meet their 20-over quota within the stipulated time, due to which Steve Smith will now have to pay Rs 12 lakh. The statement issued by the IPL stated that ‘Since this season is the first mistake of Rajasthan franchise. Therefore, the minimum over rate penalty will be imposed as per IPL rules.

Smith said about Ben Stokes, ‘He will not be there till October 10. It is not far away. Before he comes, we hope that we win some matches and get the rhythm. I don’t think we need to panic. It is just a matter of implementing your strategy.
