new Delhi: Former New Zealand all-rounder Scott Styris has said that he would like to give Ambati Rayudu a chance in place of Suresh Raina on the number-3 batting order in Chennai Super Kings. The upcoming season of IPL is starting on September 19. The IPL will be played in the United Arab Emirates this time due to Corona virus epidemic. Speaking to Star Sports, Styris said that there is definitely depth in the Chennai team but it will not be easy to fill Raina’s shortage.

Styris said, ‘Personally, I will put Rayudu at that place. It is very difficult, isn’t it, a player of that level, a player who has been good for a long time. He can score runs and is also very good in fielding and can also bowl. Finding Raina’s option is a difficult task.
The former New Zealand all-rounder said, ‘I know Chennai has depth in the team. They have many options in top order. But I also agree that now the pressure is on finding the number-3 batsman. I see this as the toughest challenge in Chennai.
Apart from Raina, veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh is also not playing in this IPL. Styris said that it is up to captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and coach Stephen Fleming how they keep the team together. He said, ‘They have some options. Two foreign players bring in top order and young player Rituraj Gaikwad and he can go with a pinch hitter too.
