Abu Dhabi: Mumbai Indians bowling coach Zaheer Khan is not too bothered that cricketers will have to adopt a ‘new routine’ due to the Kovid-19 epidemic as they believe it is just a habit.

This new routine includes quarantine, bio safe training camps, keeping hands clean, regular temperature monitoring and complete ban on the use of saliva on the ball. Zaheer admitted that the last thing in this protocol is the most difficult part.
Referring to the Indian Premier League starting on September 19, the former Indian fast bowler said, ‘I wouldn’t say it will be so difficult, it is just a matter of getting accustomed to the new routine. The preparation routine will change and you have to follow it. It is nice to come back and go to the ground again. We have to be careful that we do not use saliva as the old habits for bowlers get interrupted. We have to take care of it.

Mumbai Indians have given each of their players a ‘zip bag’ in which they will have to keep their training ball so that health safety protocol can be followed. In a Twitter video message posted by Mumbai Indians, Zaheer said, ‘When you are a professional athlete, you have to find a way to create a mental state in which you want to live. It is different for everyone and he has to make this place.
