Mumbai: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain Eoin Morgan has been fined Rs 12 lakhs for keeping a slow over rate during the Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
“Kolkata Knight Riders captain Eoin Morgan has been fined for slow over-rate during the IPL match against Chennai Super Kings at Wankhede Stadium on April 21,” the IPL said in a statement.
Was Morgan guilty?
According to the statement, “Under the IPL Code of Conduct of the team, this is the first case of slow over speed of this season, so Morgan has been fined Rs. 12 lakhs.” According to IPL rules, the team captain is fined Rs 12 lakh in the first case of slow over speed.
CSK defeated KKR
CSK won by 18 runs over KKR on Wednesday night with the help of Faf du Plessis’ unbeaten 95 runs and Deepak Chahar’s four wickets. In this big score match, CSK scored 220 runs for three wickets. In response, KKR were dismissed for 202 runs.
