Mumbai Indians have included Simarjit Singh in their team for the remaining matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in place of young fast bowler Arjun Tendulkar due to injury. Arjun, a left-arm pacer, is the son of legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar and defending champions Mumbai picked him up earlier this year.

According to the media release of Mumbai Indians, ‘Mumbai Indians have added Simarjit Singh to their team in place of injured Arjun Tendulkar for the rest of the IPL 2021 season.’ It said, ‘Simarjeet, the right-arm fast bowler, has started training with the team after completing the mandatory quarantine as per the IPL guidelines.

Left-arm fast bowler Arjun’s base price was Rs 20 lakh and Mumbai added him at the same base price. Arjun’s father Sachin has also played in the IPL for Mumbai Indians during his time.
