New Delhi: Kings XI Punjab, the famous team of IPL tournament, has been named Punjab Kings a few days ago. Its co-owner Ness Wadia has made a big disclosure about this change.
Ness Wadia had already made preparations to change the name of his team. He told that from the year 2019, the franchise was trying to keep its name somewhat different. Wadia said that Punjab Kings is an easy name and there will be no problem in connecting with the audience.

Ness Wadia said, ‘We wanted something new in this brand after so many years. For example, if we say success is not being achieved, then change is necessary. The Punjab team has not been able to win the title since IPL started in 2008.

Wadia said, ‘Kings XI Punjab’ means playing XI whereas Punjab Kings is a broad word and will be able to connect with the audience better. We were thinking of changing the name for the last 2 years. Last year, we postponed the Corona epidemic and then decided to do so this year.
The next season is set to be played in India after Corona virus infection has reduced and Wadia expressed happiness over it. He said, ‘Corona cases have increased in the UAE recently. India is safer than that. We just have to make sure that the protocol is followed strictly. Hopefully the audience will also return to the ground.
