New Delhi: The second half of IPL 2021 has started in UAE from today. Earlier this year this tournament was organized in UAE. But due to the second wave of corona virus, it was stopped midway. For the first time in IPL 2020, the team of Delhi Capitals reached the final by surprising all the teams. The memories of this team must have been refreshed once again while playing in the UAE.
Delhi hopes for a better game
Delhi Capitals all-rounder Axar Patel said his team would like to take a step forward from last season’s performance in the second half of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 14 in which it reached the final. Delhi Capitals made it to the final for the first time in IPL 2020 held in UAE and the team led by Shreyas Iyer lost to Mumbai Indians in it.
Delhi tops the league table
Delhi team is currently on top in the points table. Akshar said, ‘When it was announced that the second leg of IPL 14 would be held in UAE, I thought about my past performances here.’ In the last season, this all-rounder took nine wickets in 15 matches. He said, ‘We have happy memories of the tournament in which we reached the IPL final for the first time. We would like to repeat that performance and hope to go a step further in the finals this season.
UAE quite different from England’s weather
Talking about the difference in the weather between the UK and the UAE, Axar, who was part of the Indian team in the recently concluded Test series in England, said, “As far as the weather is concerned, there is a difference of ground and sky in both the places. It was very cold in England and here we are trying to adapt to the heat. When we stood in the balcony of our rooms during the quarantine, we got an idea of the heat but when we started practicing on the net, we got the right idea of the weather.
