New Delhi: In the 36th match of IPL 2021, Rajasthan Royals lost by 33 runs against Delhi Capitals. In this match, Delhi, batting first after losing the toss, scored 154 for 6 in 20 overs. Chasing the target, Rajasthan’s team could score only 121 runs for 6 wickets. But after this match, a bad news has come for Rajasthan captain Sanju Samson.

Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson and his teammates were fined for slow over-rate in their Indian Premier League match against Delhi Capitals in a 33-run defeat here on Saturday. Samson was fined Rs 24 lakh while each other member of the playing 11 would be fined Rs 6 lakh or 25 per cent of his individual match fee.

“This was the team’s second breach of the season under the IPL Code of Conduct relating to slow over-rate,” the IPL said in a statement. Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson has been fined Rs 24 lakh.

Fine was imposed even after the first match

Rajasthan captain Sanju Samson was also fined for slow over rate in the first match against Punjab Kings. The match officials imposed a fine of Rs 12 lakh on captain Samson. Sanju will try this season not to make this mistake again from his team or else the punishment may increase and he may also get a one-match ban.

Rajasthan team lost to Delhi

Delhi Capitals defeated Rajasthan Royals by 33 runs in the 36th match of IPL 2021 played at Sheikh Zayed Stadium on the strength of bowlers. Batting first after losing the toss, Delhi scored 154 for six in 20 overs. Chasing the target, Rajasthan team could manage only 121 runs for six wickets in 20 overs despite captain Sanju Samson’s unbeaten 70 runs off 53 balls with the help of eight fours and a six. For Delhi, Anrich Norkhia took two wickets while Avesh Khan, Ravichandran Ashwin, Kagiso Rabada and Axar Patel got one wicket each.
