Iyer said about the captaincy
Team India batsman Shreyas Iyer said that he will be fit to play in the remaining matches of IPL 2021 but it is not sure that he will be made the captain of Delhi Capitals again. He said, ‘I don’t know about captaincy. It is in the hands of the owners, but the team is doing well and we are on top and that matters to me. Our target is to get the trophy. Delhi has never been a champion before.
Shreyas Iyer was injured
26-year-old batsman Shreyas Iyer got injured during the series against England. He suffered a left shoulder injury, due to which he was also ruled out of IPL 2021.
Pant was appointed captain in place of Iyer
In Iyer’s absence, wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant was made the captain of Delhi Capitals. When IPL 2021 was postponed indefinitely after the entry of Corona virus in the bio bubble, Delhi’s team was on top of the points table.
IPL will start from September 17
