Kolkata: Young player Shubman Gill of Team India believes that ‘strike-rate’ is a kind of ‘overrated’ thing and believes that the strongest thing a batsman can do without a certain batting style- You have to mold yourself in different circumstances.

Shubman’s awesome in AUS

Shubman Gill’s role was instrumental in Team India’s historic win in Test series on Australia Tour, but he has played only 3 ODIs so far and he has not made a debut in T20 International cricket. Have done.

‘Not worried about slow strike rate’

Shubman may not be included in the Indian ODI and T20 team yet due to his slow strike rate, but it is not a matter of concern for him. The Kolkata Knight Riders star batsman said in an interview to PTI-language before IPL 2021, “I think the strike rate is overstated in a way.”

‘Batting required according to circumstances’

He said, ‘How you mold yourself in a situation is important. If the team expects you to play at a strike rate of 200, then you should be able to do so. If the team demands you to play at a strike rate of 100 then you should be able to do so. It is just a matter of adapting to the circumstances of the match.

‘Fix batting style is not right’

Gill said, “There should not be a definite ‘pattern’ in your game that you can play only one way and do not adjust according to different circumstances.” After a brilliant Test debut in Australia, he could not do so well in the home series against England and could only make a fifty in 7 innings.

IPL 2021 ready

Gill has not played any white ball match since playing the last ODI against Australia in Dimbasar last year, but he is not too worried about ‘game time’. He said, ‘I think it will not affect anything because we have a lot of days before the first match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 11.’
