New Delhi: The second leg of the Indian Premier League 2021 (IPL 2021) is going to start in the UAE next month. Let us tell you that this season first started in India in April, but due to Corona virus it was stopped midway. Meanwhile, Punjab Kings have included a great fast bowler in their team just before the start of the second leg.
This fast bowler joined Punjab
Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Punjab Kings on Saturday signed Australian fast bowler Nathan Ellis for the remaining matches of the 2021 IPL season starting in the UAE from 19 September. This is the second good news for the 26-year-old bowler within 48 hours. Ellis was included as a reserve in Australia’s squad for the Men’s T20 World Cup on Thursday (August 19).
Race was held in three franchises
It was widely reported that three IPL franchises are trying to sign Ellis for the Dubai leg. A statement issued by Punjab Kings late Friday said, “Punjab Kings have announced the addition of a new player to their roster, under which new Australian sensation Nathan Ellis has been included in the team.
The fast bowler will be part of the squad for the remainder of the 2021 Vivo Indian Premiere. The club is expecting Ellis to join the team camp soon after the end of his quarantine. Ellis has been one of the players to perform well in the 2021 Big Bash League. He was the leading wicket-taker for his franchise Hobart Hurricanes, taking 20 wickets in just 14 matches. He played all the matches for the franchise this season and almost reached the knockout stage.
