We are talking about Singapore batsman Tim David, who landed on 24 September to play a match on behalf of Virat Kohli’s team RCB at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Tim David has become the first cricketer to play IPL, whose national team (Singapore) has received neither Test nor ODI status from the ICC. This is a very unique record in itself which no player has made till now.

Cricket inspiration from father
Tim David was born in 1996 in Singapore. His father Rod David is an engineer by profession and has played cricket for his country in the year 1997. After a few years, Rod shifted to Australia with his entire family and started playing for the ‘Claremont-Nedlands Cricket Club’. Tim’s childhood was spent in Perth and he got inspiration from his father to become a cricketer.
Bat caught at the age of 8
Tim David started playing cricket in Australia at the age of 8. When he turned 19, he made his debut in the North East Premier League in England and became the highest run-scorer in the tournament that year. Due to this performance, he was selected for the Big Bash League team ‘Perth Scorchers’ team of Australia. Tim plays international cricket for Singapore today.
Tim’s first international match
Team David played his first international match (T20I) against Qatar in the year 2019. He has played 14 T20 Internationals for Singapore so far in which he has scored 558 runs at an average of 46.50, during which his highest personal score is 92 *.
Be a part of T20 league of these countries
Team David has played a total of 49 T20 matches including his presence in BBL (Australia) and PSL (Pakistan). During this, he has scored 1171 runs at a strike rate of more than 155. In the Big Bash League, he became a part of the Perth Scorchers and Hobart Hurricanes, while in the PSL he played for the Lahore Qalandars. In England, he plays cricket for the Surrey team.
Record for most catches in a T20I
Tim David holds the joint record of taking most catches in a single T20 International match. He took 4 catches against Scotland in the ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier 2019.
