IPL 2021: Troubled by David Warner’s army defeat, Dhoni’s thunderbolt can hit the punch of victory

New Delhi: The IPL match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will be played at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium from 7:30 pm today. Chennai Super Kings, who performed well after losing the first match, will start as a strong contender for victory against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led team made a great comeback after losing the first match. He has won four matches in a row.

Strengths and weaknesses of chennai super kings

The 2020 season for three subsequent champions Chennai was not good, but this time the experienced players of the team have joined them, who are leaving their impact. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has played a key role in CSK’s win. Jadeja single-handedly won the team by adding 37 runs in the last over against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Chennai also took wickets with their right-handed bowling and showed their brilliance in fielding as well. Openers Rituraj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis are in good form, while big innings are needed from Suresh Raina and Ambati Rayudu.

CSK batsmen will be aware of Rashid Khan’s challenge, but the rest of the Sunrisers bowlers are not able to play, which are his weak side. Sunrisers are heavily dependent on their overseas players captain David Warner, opener Johnny Bairstow, New Zealand giants Kane Williamson and Rashid. The poor performance of the Indian players in his team is a matter of concern for him.

Sunrisers’ strengths and weaknesses

Sunrisers batting is very much dependent on the top order and if the top batsmen are not able to play, then the weakness of the team comes to the fore. There are Indian players in the middle order who are unable to walk and if the Sunrisers have to move forward then their team management will have to overcome this weakness soon.

Warner will also have to recover from bad form as soon as possible. He will have to play in front of CSK fast bowler Deepak Chahar, who specializes in getting wickets in the beginning. Apart from Chahar, Jadeja, veteran Imran Tahir and Sam Curren are also bowling well for CSK.

Bowling is a matter of concern for Sunrisers. He is dependent on Rashid in this department, but the opposition team can score good runs in the remaining 16 overs. Veteran Bhuvneshwar Kumar has not been able to perform consistently while the team has suffered a setback due to yorker specialist T Natarajan withdrawing from the IPL due to injury.
