Deepak Chahar gave victory to Chennai by taking 1 run on the last ball of the last over.

During the match, KKR’s coaching staff was seen sitting in the dugout giving directions to Kolkata captain Eoin Morgan with the help of a board. Number-3 was written on the board. It is not clear what the coaching staff wanted to explain, but Gautam Gambhir did not like this action. Gautam Gambhir scolded the KKR team for this. Gautam Gambhir said that if this had happened during his time, he would have left the captaincy of KKR.

Talking on Star Sports, Gautam Gambhir said, ‘When all the messages are being given from outside, there is no need of a captain on the ground. Had I been in this position, I would have given up the captaincy. This is not the right way.

Chennai beat Kolkata

Chennai Super Kings secured the first position in the points table of IPL 2021 by registering a thrilling 2-wicket win over Kolkata. Chennai had a target of 172 runs. Faf du Plessis (44 off 30 balls) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (40 off 28 balls) got them off to a good start by adding 74 runs for the first wicket. Moeen Ali made 32 off 28 balls, but it was Jadeja who hit two fours and two sixes in difficult conditions as Chennai chased down the target for the loss of eight wickets. This is Chennai’s third consecutive win after the second phase of IPL 2021 was restored, taking them to 16 points from 10 matches. KKR suffered defeat after two consecutive victories. He has eight points from 10 matches.
