IPL: When MS Dhoni fires on the field, took it away from umpires

new Delhi: Mahendra Singh Dhoni (MS Dhoni), popularly known as ‘Captain Cool’, has been seen less frequently on the field. But in 2019, in an IPL match played against Rajasthan Royals, CSK captain Dhoni was furious and came straight into the ground and confronted the umpire. This has rarely happened, when the audience was seen as a super cool captain.

The matter is for IPL 2019

Actually, in the year 2019, there was an exciting match between RR and CSK and Dhoni’s team won the match by 4 wickets on the last ball. But in the meantime something happened in the last over which captain Dhoni lost his cool. After the dismissal of Mahendra Singh Dhoni on the third ball of the last over, Chennai Super Kings needed 8 runs in 3 balls to win.

This was the whole controversy

After captain Dhoni was dismissed, Mitchell Santner came to bat. In the last over, Rajasthan Royals bowler Ben Stokes was bowling. Ben Stokes bowled the fourth ball of his over to Mitchell Santner, on which he ran and completed 2 runs. However, due to the height of the ball, the umpire indicated no ball, but then the decision was withdrawn after not seeing any response from the leg umpire.

Dhoni clashed with umpires on the field

This umpire’s decision became the reason for Dhoni’s anger. The umpire first indicated the no ball, but then he called the ball ‘legal’. On this, Ravindra Jadeja, who was batting with Santner in the ground, first confronted the umpire and then Dhoni sitting in the ‘dug out’ objected to the decision of the umpire from there. There was a strange atmosphere in the ground and Dhoni had come straight from the dugout in the middle of the field. Here he told the leg umpire that this no ball has been given. During this time, a heated debate took place on the ground between the umpires and Dhoni. However, despite Dhoni’s objection, the umpire remained firm on his decision and Dhoni had to go off the field.

Dhoni was fined

Chennai captain Dhoni had to pay the compensation for his mistake. Dhoni was fined 50 percent of the match fee for violating the code of conduct. Dhoni’s fans would not have been expected to behave like this, but he may have given such a reaction under pressure to win the match. In the replays shown on TV, it was clear that Stokes’ ball was no ball, but the umpire had made a mistake in this matter. Dhoni’s attitude came as a surprise to the former players commenting on the match. From Akash Chopra to all the players who are commentating, Dhoni’s behavior has been misunderstood. Because it is not a new thing to be a mistake by the umpire in the field, but objecting to it or showing anger is considered against the spirit of the game.

… and Chennai got the victory

Santner then scored two runs for CSK on the fifth ball. Four runs were needed to win on the last ball, here the next ball went wide. Now three runs were needed on the last ball, Sentner hit his last ball for six and gave his team the victory. Earlier, Chennai once again performed a brilliant bowling, stopping the Royals for 151 runs for seven wickets. Rajasthan bowlers made Chennai work very hard to achieve this goal, but Chennai lost this target on the last ball, losing six wickets. Dhoni played a brilliant innings of 58 runs off 43 balls and played a key role in CSK’s win.
