Kane Williamson’s bat thundered in T20 World Cup Final, made this record despite missing a century


New Delhi: New Zealand captain Kane Williamson’s batsman opened fire in the final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. Due to his brilliant innings, he saved Australia bowlers for sixes, but he missed out on touching the three-digit figure by just 15 runs.

After losing the toss, Kane Williamson landed at number three for New Zealand. After this he did not spare any kangaroo bowlers. Kane played a brilliant innings of 85 runs in 48 balls at a strike rate of 177.08. During this he hit 10 fours and 3 sixes.

Record made despite missing a century

Kane Williamson was fast moving towards his century but Josh Hazlewood got him caught at the hands of Steve Smith, due to which the Kiwi captain missed out on scoring a century.

Marlon Samuels equals

Kane Williamson equaled the record of West Indies batsman Marlon Samuels in this match as this (85 runs) is the highest score in the history of T20 World Cup final. Samuels scored an unbeaten 85 against England in the final of the 2016 edition.

Australia defeated New Zealand by 8 wickets in the final match of T20 World Cup 2021. Despite Kane Williamson’s 85-run knock, the Kiwis could not win. Australia has won the T20 World Cup title for the first time.
