After this brilliant performance of Rahul, the tension of 3 Indian batsmen has increased. Out of which 2 may have to sit on the bench for the entire series.
Mayank Agarwal had a chance to make a comeback in this series, but he got injured two days before the start of the Nottingham Test. Now after KL Rahul’s splendid performance, Mayank’s tension is bound to increase as Mayank may not only have to be out of the playing XI for the entire series, but his card can also be cleared from the Test team.
2- Prithvi Shaw
Prithvi Shaw played the last Test in Adelaide in December 2020. In which Virat Kohli’s team was all out for 36 runs in the second innings against hosts Australia. Since then, Prithvi has not been able to return to Test cricket, but after his impressive performance in domestic cricket, he has once again been given a place in the Indian Test team. Now with KL Rahul in the team, it is difficult for Prithvi to get a place in the playing XI. He may have to sit on the bench for the entire series.
3- Shubman Gill
KL Rahul returned to the Indian Test team after the injury of Shubman Gill, Gill has currently returned to India and KL Rahul has settled in the opening in his place. He may get a place in the Indian squad after recovering from injury, but his return to the playing XI will be difficult with KL Rahul. Gill proved to be a flop when the England team came on the tour of India, so India has got an option in the form of KL Rahul.
