Know what Rohit Sharma said after winning IPL 2020 title

Dubai: Mumbai Indians (MI) have taken the title of IPL-13 (IPL 2020). This is Mumbai’s fifth IPL title and it has won all five titles under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. After losing by five wickets to the Delhi Capitals at the Dubai International Stadium, Rohit said that his team was in the match with the first ball and from there he never looked back.

Trent Bolt sent Delhi’s Marcus Stoinis to the pavilion on the very first ball of the match. Delhi could not recover from the initial setbacks and managed to score 156 runs after losing seven wickets in 20 overs. Mumbai achieved this target on the basis of Rohit’s 68-run innings by losing five wickets in 18.4 overs.

After the match, Rohit Sharma said, ‘I am very happy with the way things have been the whole season. We had said in the beginning that we want to make victory a habit and you cannot ask for anything more than this. We were ahead of the first ball and we never looked back.

Rohit also credited the team’s success to those who worked behind the scenes.

The right-handed batsman said, ‘A lot of credit also goes to those who worked behind the scenes. Our work starts long before the start of IPL. We analyze what went wrong, where needs to be rectified ‘.

Regarding his captaincy, Rohit said, ‘You need the right balance to remain calm. I am not the captain who runs away with a stick behind someone. You can do better by giving confidence to the players. If you see our batting, then we have Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya, we rotated them all season. There is a similar depth in our bowling.

In this match, Rohit Sharma played off-spinner Jayant Yadav keeping the leg-spinner Rahul Chahar out of the team. Rohit said on this, ‘Chahar’s going out unfortunate, but politically we wanted Jayant. When you make changes in your last-11, you want to make it better. You should do that without weakening anyone’s confidence ‘.

Thanking the fans, Rohit said, ‘We tried to play without the fans, unfortunately he was not here, but his support means a lot. Fans make this game special for us. Missed playing in Wankhede ‘.
