Know who would like to see Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma as captain VVS Laxman

new Delhi: Former India cricketer VVS Laxman has said that for limited overs cricket, there is no need to make Rohit Sharma (Rohit Sharma) the captain of the Indian team instead of Virat Kohli. Laxman said this during the virtual launch of the book ‘The Hitman: The Rohit Sharma Story’ written by Vijay Lokapalli and G. Krishnan.

VVS Laxman said about Rohit Sharma, ‘There is no doubt that he is a great captain. He has been quite successful in the absence of Virat Kohli. It is not easy to get 5 titles to Mumbai Indians.

Laxman said, ‘The way he (Rohit) has built the team and is handling the team in difficult circumstances is fantastic. He has all the qualities of being a successful captain for India, but there is no need to change here. Virat has got tremendous success and he is performing brilliantly. I don’t see any need to make any changes.

He said, ‘His career reminds me of my career. It is not easy to play against quality bowlers without opening. Once their eyes are set, they can put pressure on the bowlers. I knew that he had the ability to do something different. In Test cricket, we struggle to score a double century and he has scored a double hundred in ODIs.

Anil Kumble was also present with Laxman on this occasion. He said that when the time comes, Rohit will be ready to take over the reins of the team. Kumble said, ‘When we offered him captaincy in Mumbai Indians, he was very confident. It came naturally to him. They are ready for the challenge. Well we are discussing that we have the option of each other. We are lucky that we have Rohit who has been successful in the IPL. When the time comes and there is a need, I am sure they will be ready.
