Abu Dhabi: Team India is facing Afghanistan in the T20 World Cup. Afghanistan won the toss and decided to bowl first and invited Team India to bat. India will have to win the next three matches including Afghanistan by a big margin and pray that Afghanistan’s team also defeats New Zealand. India were almost pushed out of the T20 World Cup 2021 after beating Pakistan and New Zealand badly in their first two consecutive matches. There have been 2 major changes in Team India for the match against Afghanistan, which are as follows.
1. R Ashwin in place of Varun Chakraborty
R Ashwin has been included in the playing XI in place of Varun Chakraborty in the match against Afghanistan. Varun Chakraborty was included in the playing XI in place of Ashwin in the match against Pakistan and New Zealand, but this decision of captain Virat Kohli proved to be wrong. Varun Chakraborty did not get a single wicket in both the matches. In the match against Afghanistan, Varun Chakraborty has been discharged and R Ashwin has got a chance. Team India’s legendary spin bowler Ravichandran Ashwin was not given a chance in the World Cup so far. Former India selector Dilip Vengsarkar had said that why is Ashwin being dropped again and again? This is the subject of investigation. Ashwin is the best spinner in every format and has taken 600 international wickets. He is the senior most spinner and he is not the only one being picked. I don’t understand. Ashwin did not play a single match in the series against England. Why Ashwin was chosen then it is a mystery to me.
2. Suryakumar Yadav in place of Ishan Kishan
In the match against Afghanistan, Suryakumar Yadav has been included in the playing XI in place of Ishan Kishan. In the last match against New Zealand, Ishan Kishan got a chance in the playing XI, but he was dismissed after scoring just 4 runs.
