Michael Vaughan targets BCCI, questions raised over Ravindra Jadeja getting A grade contract


New Delhi: Former England captain Michael Vaughan has always targeted Team India and its players. But this time he has raised questions about the annual contract of players on BCCI. Michael Vaughan is disappointed with the contract Ravindra Jadeja received.

Ravindra Jadeja gets A grade

Team India’s all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has done well for the last few times and has contributed in three formats. In such a situation, it was expected that he would be promoted in the BCCI Annual Contract List, but it did not happen.

Ravindra Jadeja has been a part of Team India for over a decade, but failed to make it to the A + grade. In this category, BCCI has included only 3 players who play Test, ODI and T20 in all three formats.

Michael Vaughan raised questions

In this BCCI contract, Michael Vaughan has expressed disappointment over Ravindra Jadeja not getting a grade in A + grade. He has raised the question through a post on Twitter. He has said that Jadeja should have got a place in Virat Kohli’s category.

Full list of players’ salary

The BCCI has placed the players of Team India in 4 categories. For players in A +, A, B and C. A + category, Rs 7 crore every year, A grade 5 crore and B grade player Rs 3 crore for the whole year and finally player with C grade only every year. 1 crore rupees will be given.

The BCCI annual list of contracts is as follows:

Grade A Plus (Rs seven crore): Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jaspreet Bumrah.

Grade A (Rs five crore): R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya.

Grade B (Rs. 3 crore): Wriddhiman Saha, Umesh Yadav, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Shardul Thakur, Mayank Agarwal.
