Mirabai used to lift wood as a child, now gave India the first medal in Tokyo

‘There was no money for a good diet’

There was a time when Mirabai Chanu did not have money for a good diet. When he started weightlifting training, the financial condition of his house was not good. Because of this many times he could not get a good diet. She needed milk and chicken daily in her diet, but this was impossible for Meera of a common family.

50 kilometer journey for training

Saikhom Mirabai Chanu hails from Imphal East, Manipur. There was no training center in her village, she used to go 50-60 km away for training. Mirabai never let these difficulties come in the way of her success.

Mirabai used to lift a bundle of wood once

Mirabai Chanu used to lift a bundle of wood in her childhood, but today she is lifting the Olympic medal. He joined Indian Railways on 31 August 2015. He is on the post of Senior Ticket Collector. He has been awarded the Padma Shri for the best sport.
