New Delhi: Mithali Raj, the first woman cricketer to be awarded the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award, on Saturday hoped that her achievements will inspire young girls of the country to pursue their dreams.
President gives Khel Ratna Award to Mithali
This 38-year-old veteran of Indian women’s cricket was honored with the country’s highest sports honor Khel Ratna by President Ram Nath Kovind. He is one of the 12 players to have received this award this year.

Mithali wrote an emotional message

‘Young women players will get inspiration’
The captain of the Indian women’s Test and ODI team said, “I sincerely hope that my journey will inspire young girls across the country to pursue their dreams.” Mithali has represented the country in 12 Tests, 220 ODIs and 89 T20 Internationals for the country in a career spanning over two decades.
