New York: Japan’s women’s tennis player Naomi Osaka has reached the top 3 of the latest World Rankings in the WTA after winning the US Open Grand Slam title. Osaka defeated Victoria Ezarenka 1-6, 6-3, 6-3 in the final of the US Open women’s singles category on Saturday to win her second US Open and third Grand Slam title.

On the basis of this performance, Osaka has jumped 6 places to reach the third position in the latest ranking of WTA. 22-year-old Osaka has already won the titles of US Open in 2018 and Australian Open in 2019.

Apart from Osaka, Australia’s Ashleigh Barty still holds the top spot. Romania’s Simona Halep is second after them. At the same time, Azarenka, who lost to Osaka in the final of the US Open, has also gained a lot in the ranking.
Azarenka has jumped 13 places to reach number 14. Apart from them, Jennifer Brady, who reached the semi-finals, has jumped 16 places to reach number 25.
