New Delhi: ICC T20 World Cup 2021 is starting from 17 October in UAE and Oman. This tournament was earlier scheduled to be held in India, but it was shifted due to the outbreak of Corona virus. Now before the start of the World Cup, the ICC has taken a big decision. Actually ICC is going to use DRS for the first time in T20 World Cup.
ICC’s big decision
Decision Review System (DRS) will be used for the first time in the Men’s T20 World Cup to be held in UAE and Oman. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has approved its use in tournaments. The ICC has also included DRS in the rules of the game issued for the upcoming tournament. The Men’s T20 World Cup will be played from October 17 to November 14.
A team will get so many reviews
According to the ESPNcricinfo report, each team will get two chances of DRS in each innings. Earlier DRS was never used in T20 World Cup. The last time the T20 World Cup was played was in 2016 when DRS was not used in this format.
first used in 2018
DRS was used for the first time in an ICC T20 tournament in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2018 played in the West Indies. After this, this system was also used in the Women’s T20 World Cup played in Australia in 2020. Any team benefits a lot from DRS because many times players are not happy with the on-field umpire’s decision, then they can take its review.
