PAK vs NZ: Big shock to Pakistan Cricket team Babar Azam and Imam ul Haq out of first test


Napier: Pakistan captain Babar Azam and opener Imam Ul Haq (Imam ul Haq) will not be able to play in the first Test match against New Zealand due to an injury, due to which the selection committee appointed young Imran Butt. Has been included in the 17-member team.

The first Test match between these two teams will be played at Mount Maunganui from December 26. Babar Azam’s right thumb is hurt while Imam ul Haq’s left hand thumb is injured. He was injured during a practice session in Queenstown last week.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), both the batsmen have not yet returned to the nets and the medical team is keeping a close watch on their updates. The PCB said, “A decision will be taken later on his participation in the second Test match in Christchurch starting on 3 January.”

In the absence of Babar, wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizan will lead Pakistan in the first Test match. He will be the 33rd Test captain of the country. Pakistan made a disappointing start to their tour. He has lost the first 2 matches of the series of 3 T20 Internationals. The last T20 match will be played on 22 December followed by a series of 2 Test matches.

Pakistani team for Test: Mohammad Rizwan (captain for first test), Abid Ali, Azhar Ali, Faheem Ashraf, Fawad Alam, Haris Sohail, Imran Butt, Mohammad Abbas, Naseem Shah, Sarfraz Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Shaheen Afridi, Shaan Masood, Sohail Khan and Yasir Shah (Babar Azam and Imam ul Haq will not be available for the first test).
