new Delhi: Team India wicket-keeper batsman Parthiv Patel has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. The player, who made his debut at the young age of 17, had a long career span of 18 years.

Debut in 2002
Patel (Parthiv Patel) made his Test debut in 2002 at the age of 17 in England. He has played 25 Tests, 38 ODIs and two T20 matches for India. He last played for the Indian team in Johannesburg in 2018. India had won in this match.
He was also a part of the team when India won the Test series for the first time in Australia in 2018-19.
Rule over domestic cricket
Apart from playing for India, Patel gave Gujarat the title of Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2015. He scored a century against Delhi in the final.
He also continued his success in the next season’s Ranji Trophy final. Patel scored the highest victory in the final by chasing a target of 143 runs against Mumbai and gave his team the title of Ranji Trophy.
The left-handed batsman has scored over 11,000 runs in 194 first-class cricket. He has scored 27 centuries and 67 half-centuries.

In the Indian Premier League (IPL), Patel (Parthiv Patel) has played for a total of six franchises. He has been a part of the title winning team three times. He has won titles with Chennai Super Kings in 2010 and with Mumbai Indians in 2015, 2017.

He has played a total of 139 IPL matches. In these IPL matches, 2848 runs have been scored by Patel’s bat which includes 13 half-centuries. He was also a part of Royal Challengers Bangalore this season but did not play a single match.
