Pat Cummins will not play in the second half of IPL 2021, a big setback for KKR

New Delhi: IPL 2021 was stopped midway due to the second wave of corona virus. After the suspension of this league, foreign players were stuck in the country for several days. These players were sent back to their country with great difficulty. In such a situation, now after the restart of IPL, many players have started withdrawing their names.

Big blow to KKR

Australia’s veteran fast bowler Pat Cummins has withdrawn his name from the remaining matches of IPL 2021, starting in September in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Cummins is part of the Kolkata Knight Riders team in the 14th season of IPL. Cummins has told Kolkata Knight Riders’ Indian wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik that he will not be available for the second leg of IPL 2021. Kolkata is also not sure of getting the services of Eoin Morgan, who is the captain of the team this season.

Kartik reveals

Karthik said in an interview with Times of India, ‘Pat Cummins himself has said that he will not come to play. But Morgan can come. However, there is still time left for the tournament to start and a lot of changes can happen from now to September. But if I am asked to captain, I am ready for it.

Difficult for England players to play

However, there has been no official statement from Cricket Australia regarding the remaining matches of IPL 2021. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has already made it clear that its players will not skip international matches for the IPL. ECB director of cricket Ashley Giles said last month that England had a full schedule. The remaining matches of the IPL postponed due to Corona will be held in the UAE in September.
