New Delhi: Team India’s star of spinner Ravichandran Ashwin (R Ashwin) has been elected ICC ‘Player of the Month’. Ravichandran Ashwin (R Ashwin) was recently the ‘Man of the Series’ in the four-match Test series against England. Ashwin (R Ashwin) took a total of 32 wickets in this series.

Ravichandran Ashwin (R Ashwin) has been voted the best ICC cricketer of the month of February. Ashwin has achieved this position by beating England’s Test captain Joe Root. Ravichandran Ashwin is the second Indian player to be elected the ICC ‘Player of the Month’. Prior to Ashwin, this award was won by Team India wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant in January.

Ashwin has taken a total of 24 wickets in the month of February, including a magnificent century in the first innings of the second Test played in Chennai against England. Ravichandran Ashwin completed the record of taking the fastest 400 Test wickets from India in this Test series.

Ashwin achieved this position in his 77th Test. Before Ashwin, this record was in the name of Anil Kumble, who did this feat in 80 Tests. The record of taking the fastest 400 Test wickets overall is in Sri Lanka’s Muttiah Muralitharan’s name. Ashwin is second in this episode.
Tammy Beaumont was also named Player of the Month
Apart from Ravichandran Ashwin, England opener Tammy Beaumont has been selected as the Male and Female Player of the Month respectively by the ICC for the month of February. Beaumont had scored half-centuries and scored a total of 231 runs in the three matches of the three-match ODI series played against New Zealand.
