R Ashwin had fun on Sanjay Manjrekar’s statement, gave a befitting reply by hitting film dialogues

New Delhi: Indian commentator Sanjay Manjrekar is once again in the headlines for his sharp statement. This time he has said such a thing about Team India’s spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, for which he is facing criticism. Now Ashwin has given a befitting reply to Majrekar in a funny way.

Sharp words of Sanjay Manjrekar

Former Indian batsman Sanjay Manjrekar had said that when people describe off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin as one of the greatest bowlers of all time, he has a little problem with it. Ashwin has so far taken 409 wickets in 78 Test matches for India, out of which he has taken five or more wickets 30 times.

Now the problem with Ashwin

Sanjay Manjrekar told Cricinfo, ‘I have some problem when people call him (Ashwin) one of the greatest bowlers of all time. The problem with Ashwin is that he has not taken five wickets even once in SENA (South Africa, England, New Zealand and Australia) countries.

‘Ashwin not the greatest bowler of all time’

Ashwin has taken 286 wickets out of 409 Test wickets in India, which includes five or more wickets 24 times. He said, ‘When you look at his strong performance on Indian pitches, Jadeja has taken almost equal to him in the last four years. In the last series against England, Axar Patel has taken more wickets than him. That’s why it is not right to call Ashwin one of the greatest bowlers of all time and assume so.

consider these players great

Sanjay Manjrekar tweeted about this and wrote, ‘All time great’ is the biggest compliment to be said about cricketers. Legends like Don Bradman, Gary Sobers, Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli are the ‘all time greats’ in my list. Ashwin has not reached this place yet.

Ashwin enjoys Manjrekar

Ravichandran Ashwin reacted to this tweet of Sanjay Manjrekar and replied to the Indian commentator by sharing the picture of the Tamil film ‘Anniyaan’ which was released in Hindi with the name of ‘Aparchit’. In the picture shared by Ashwin, the lead hero of the film tells his friend, ‘Don’t do this, my heart hurts.’
