RCB to win IPL title, claims former captain

new Delhi: Former Indian cricket team captain Dilip Vengsarkar has said that Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), captained by Virat Kohli, can win the title this time by ending their 12-year drought in the IPL (IPL 2020). is. Vengsarkar said that the way the team from Bangalore looks, it is a contender for this title.

Bangalore have played IPL finals in 2009, 2011 and 2016 but so far they have not been able to lift the trophy.

Vengsarkar has said that, in this T20 format, it is difficult to say who is the strongest contender. But I would say that this time Bangalore will win, because they have not won a single IPL title yet. Kohli, Abraham de Villiers, Yuzvendra Chahal will do well. There are many good players in his team. Fast bowler Navdeep Saini bowled brilliantly in the first match. So I am interested in how he plays in the tournament.

Vengsarkar, however, said that nothing can be said with certainty about this rapidly changing T20 format. He said, ‘Yes Bangalore can be the favorite team – one of the title contenders. But I cannot say that the team of the team will win convincingly. But she can be one of the title contenders’.

The IPL is happening for the second time in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Earlier in 2014, half of IPL was played in UAE due to Lok Sabha elections in India.

On the situation in the UAE, the former captain said, ‘The weather in the UAE is humid. But it had to happen because there are summers in these months. In India, you play IPL in 10-12 places and there you are playing only three places. Therefore, there may be wear and tear in pitches. it would be interesting’.

He said, ‘Spinners will prove very useful later with the help of pitches. The weather will also improve later, because October and November stay a little there, especially in the evening. I am saying this because I have played in Sharjah etc.

Vengsarkar said, ‘dew factor is very important because if the dew remains, it becomes difficult to grip the ball, especially for spinners. It has to happen. But you don’t get dew every day, it happens on some days’.

When Vengsarkar says that spinners will become very important in IPL, are they including dew in it? He said, ‘It depends. There cannot be dew every day, but as I said, the spinners will become important as the tournament progresses.
