New Delhi: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli heaped praise on the bowlers after their win against Rajasthan Royals and said that despite Rajasthan’s excellent start, the bowlers did not allow them to score more runs. Virat’s team RCB’s performance in IPL this year has been amazing and they can win their first trophy this year.

All bowlers in great rhythm

Medium pacer Harshal Patel remained the star player with three wickets for 34 runs, but the performances of the spinners pleased Kohli all the more. Yuzvendra Chahal took two wickets for 18 runs, while left-arm spinner Shahbaz Ahmed gave 10 runs in two overs with two wickets. In their previous match, RCB restricted Mumbai Indians to 111 in 18.1 overs from 56/0 in the powerplay.

Kohli praised

After the match, Kohli said that we have come back strongly with the ball in two consecutive matches. Which is a good sign. We know we are going in the right direction. In both the games, the opposition team had 56/0 in the powerplay, but in both the matches, we made sure that the bowler bowled smoothly and did not allow the opposition team to score more runs.

Kohli said, ‘We knew that the kind of bowling attack we have, when we take wickets, things can change. As batsmen you can’t take too much risk when you are looking for even two points, so we went looking for mistakes. Their batsman Lewis hit some sixes but Garten bowled courageously and got us wickets.

Brilliant bowling in the middle overs

Kohli said a few things changed for his team on Wednesday night and the bowling of the middle overs was one of them. He said, ‘Some important things are clicking, the bowling of the middle overs is one. If you take wickets you can change the game. We have made some good starts as batsmen. Devdutt and I have focused on giving the team a good start so that the middle order can be higher later with Glenn Maxwell and AB de Villiers.
