Romania’s tennis star Simona Halep injured, withdrawn from French Open 2021


Bucharest: Simona Halep, the female tennis player ranked third in the world rankings, withdrew from the French Open 2021 because of a calf injury.

29-year-old Simona Halep of Romania became the champion in Roland Garros in the year 2018. During the Italian Open, his calf muscle was injured.

‘Expect to withdraw from French Open’

Simona Halep said that it would take time for her to recover from her injury. The French Open will begin on 30 May. Hallep said, “Going away from a Grand Slam is against all my thinking and hope as an athlete, but for me it is the right and only decision.”

Champion was made in 2018

Simona Halep is a 3-time finalist at the French Open. She won her first major singles title by defeating Sloane Stephens in the 2018 final in Paris. He said, “I am saddened by the thought of not going to Paris, but I want to use my energy to recover, stay positive.” Whenever I am safe, I will try to return to the game.

Simona Halep of Romania is the defending champion of Wimbledon. He won this title in 2019, while the tournament was canceled in the year 2020 due to Coronavirus Pandamic. This year, Wimbledon is to be held from 28 June.
